Dr. Yaziji is the founder and President of Ancillary Pathways, LLC. An internationally known pathologist, Dr. Yaziji is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received his M. D. degree from the University of Damascus in 1989, and completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Louisville in 1996. Dr. Yaziji completed two fellowships, in Surgical Pathology and Clinical Cancer Research, at the University of Washington in 1997 and 1998. He also completed a third fellowship in Cytopathology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1999. Dr. Yaziji is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. He worked with Dr. Allen Gown at PhenoPath Laboratories from 1996 to 2004, where he was instrumental in the development of a profitable specialty pathology testing laboratory for immunohistochemistry and FISH, and subsequently served as the Director of Molecular Oncodiagnostics Laboratories at the Baptist Hospital of Miami. Dr. Yaziji’s main research and clinical expertise is in the translational applications of immunohistochemistry, FISH and other ancillary pathology methods for diagnostic Anatomic Pathology. He has conducted numerous research studies, resulting in the publication of 37 peer-reviewed scientific articles on various topics including applied immunohistochemistry and HER-2 testing by FISH. He is a regular speaker at national and international pathology meetings. Dr. Yaziji believes passionately in the importance of point-of-care-pathology for providing high quality diagnostic results.
